Background to BN GOLD project  Bachelor of Nursing (Post Registration) designed for practicing Registered Nurses  Eight units  Currently delivered in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, provincial Papua New Guinea, Australia  GOLD funding to support development of on- line delivery & increase market share  Also an opportunity to update curriculum

The process  Curriculum development retreat, resulting in 2 new units and major revision of most others  Consultation with major partners  Student forums where possible  Resistance to a fully on-line development  Planned ‘roll-out’ of GOLD units accelerated to increase attractiveness to nurses in SE Asia

The hitches  Staff workloads high  Had to delay roll out of 1 other new unit  One key staff member working in Malaysia  Most staff not proficient with WebCT  Had to allow for students with no on-line access to students with broadband  Some tutorial staff lack training, others more advanced than Monash  Contractual arrangements with partners
