2 The OpenLearn roadmap A feasibility report agreed by VC’s Executive, Academic Board and Council mid 2005 to undertake a pilot project Hewlett granted £115k to help cover £400k scoping work in late 2005 for a two year pilot (stage 1) £4.5m grant from William and Flora Hewlett Foundation for two year pilot costing £5.65m in total, 2006-8 (stage 2) Continue with OpenLearn (£0.7m) but embed policy and practices into existing systems and processes and seek more funding, 2008-9 (stage 3) Integrate all OER work through Open2.net, YouTube and iTunes activity under OpenLearn banner (£0.5m) 2009-2010 and extend research (amongst others) through £2m Hewlett funding for OLnet 2009-2012 (stage 4) Establish SCORE with HEFCE SDF funding (£3m) as part of HE Shared Solutions project, 2009-12 (stage 5) Further integration and mainstreaming of all open media work, 2010-11 (stage 6)
