Summative Evaluation Independent Evaluations { individual work }  Homeworks, quizzes, exams, and reports are the assessment instruments.  Time-honored grading techniques are used by faculty for these instruments. Teamwork Evaluations { individual contribution }  Team quizzes and exams can be done, but do so sparingly or not at all.  Team homeworks and reports are the usually assessment instruments.

3. Summative Evaluation Divide course into 3-to-4 segments, each 4-weeks long. Create 4 1-wk, 2 2-wk, or 1 4-wk project(s) in a segment. End segment with a major exam or a team project report. Have student’s work quality count 50-100% of final grade. Project Format for a Course
