The Israeli Medical Corps is an IDF corps responsible for providing healthcare services and medical treatment and instruction to all levels of the IDF The corps is headed by Brigadier General Dr. Nachman Ash

Medical Corps Shortage of military physicians Need for physicians for Combat and non combat units, GPs, specialist etc’ Use of reserve physicians until the age of 45 – 52 Education: Academic reserve No military medical school in Israel Post MD medical corps training

Vision To meet the IDF needs as the preferred source for uniformed healthcare education and training To provide graduates and faculty, who are expert in: Combat and non combat medicine Responding to threats from Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Disaster and humanitarian relief Traumatic and post-traumatic stress All aspects of preventive healthcare To be a leader in basic and clinical research to improve healthcare, to protect, sustain and enhance the fighting forces and to secure the public’s health

The Program To establish the academic health center for the military To provide IDF with health professionals dedicated to career service in the IDF MD Paramedics All other military medical professions As an additional school in the faculty of health sciences – not a stand alone faculty To serve the uniformed services and the Nation as an outstanding academic health sciences center To implement the faculty perspective for education, research, service and consultation; To relate to special fields in military medicine such as disaster medicine, and military medical readiness
