(did it in chapter 2) Review Select a Row We LOVE This. ► Selecting Attribute Table records causes the corresponding features to be selected in the Display Area. ► Modifying, analyzing and processing geospatial data requires filtering of features.

15 Unit Three – Selecting Features 15 Find Tool What Layers are Selected? You get to choose with “Find”: 1. all layers 2. visible layers 3. selectable layers 4. all dataframes 5. any discreet layers The context menu for the features that are found contains actions, including “Select Feature(s)”

ArcGIS tests each record, and will find that: a)A record in a DB of towns can NEVER be both… “Name” = ‘Durham’ AND AND “Name” = ‘Newmarket’ b)But that one record may turn out to be… “Name” = ‘Durham’ OR OR “Name” = ‘Newmarket’ 2. Rule of Thumb: Clauses must be a)Complete b)Separately evaluate-able “Name” = ‘Newmarket’ OR “Name” = ‘Durham’
