2 Claim A claim is statement the advocate believes or is in the process of evaluating.

3 REASON A reason is a statement advanced for the purpose of establishing a claim.

4 CONCLUSION A conclusion is a claim that has been reached by the process of reasoning.

5 CASE A case is a series of arguments, all advanced to support the same general contention or se of conclusions.

6 Structure of inferences
A structure of inferences is the relationships among the reasons and the conclusions in the argument.

7 Connectives Connectives are reasons that consist of beliefs, values, assumptions, or generalizations that link evidence to a conclusion.
