Exerting Maximum Effort For Minimal Results Creative Card Placing Machine

Progress Review Quick Review Background Problem Description Mission & Approach Customers/Wants/Constraints System Benchmarking Metrics Functional Benchmarking Preliminary Concept & Concept Evaluation Schedule Budget

Background Exchange of Business Cards Is Commonplace in Industry Marketing Tool / Networking Aid Companies Seeking Creative Method Of Accepting Business Cards Differentiate Themselves Display of Creativity A Prime Example

Problem Description Needs: Develop a device to highlight GDA Digital Media’s functional creativity and celebrate a client’s visit Device will randomly place a business card on the wall in a method representative of GDA’s imaginative style Benefit: Device will convey GDA’s receptive and “down-to-earth” approach to business relations.

Creative Card Placing Machine Team 13 Members: Jeremy Garey, David Conway, Evan Kress, Rob Roche Customer: GDA Digital Media Advisor: Dr. Glancey Mission: To design, build, and evaluate an innovative, multi-step machine that accepts a business card and places it randomly in a defined area of the wall. Approach: The problem will be attacked through detailed problem definition and research. This will encompass identifying specifications, contacting customers, prioritizing their wants, and benchmarking existing solutions. Based on this iterative procedure, potential solutions will be developed and evaluated based on metrics. A prototype will then be constructed and tested.
