Proposal Install a ‘Waste to Heat’ engine on SAF loading bay Technology, being used by both British & USA Navy’s, life expectancy 15 years Will utilise all South Kensington clinical waste some domestic waste, wooden pallets and polystyrene. Heat fed into SAF building, replacing current lead boiler providing hot water etc. ‘Sustainable Energy’ meets Government agenda Project dependent on Environmental Licensing & Planning, on site by Autumn

3. CARBON MANAGEMENT BOARD – May 2011 Benefits Will result in circa 400 tonne CO 2 saving / annum Provides 400 kW of heat (2,000,000 kWhrs / annum) to offset against current gas consumption. Treatment of waste on site, reducing vehicular movements and waste to landfill Operational cost and CRC tax savings Operate in partnership with supplier, will offer opportunity for academic studies, on site. First University to have this technology, best practice

4. Project Progress Partnership approach with supplier agreed, together with potential academic research & development opportunities FM and Purchasing finalising contract details. Capital for logistics, £160K approved by PRB Discussions with supplier project implementation team underway.
