MDF & IDF Layouts Physical layout of closets Rack placement Wall outlets How are the closets locked Who has access and why

Server & Workstation Configurations Detailed configuration specs for each server and workstation Make and model of computers Serial numbers IP address MAC address Subnet Topology

Software Listing Lists of standard and special software Installation details for each piece of software Includes operating system software and application software

Maintenance Records List of repairs Allows some ability to predict possible future problems with existing hardware and software

Security Measures Soft Security Passwords User rights Firewalls Physical Security How are MDF and IDF locked? Who has access to rooms Why? Security cables and alarms

Important!!!! Documentation needs to be continually updated. OR ELSE documentation will not have a great deal of relevance to current network
