The next level, is what is referred to as the formal product. This what is most recognizable to the consumer as the offering. For example, a chair. Formal products can have as many as five characteristics including quality level, features, styling, a brand name, and packaging. The final level is what is called the augmented product. This refers to the product and any other services connected with the product such as credit, delivery, store atmosphere, guarantees, training, or others.
