All Rights Reserved. 4-9 Types of Images Graphic images that have been processed by a computer can usually be divided into three distinct categories: bitmap files, vector graphics and Meta file graphics. Bitmap images and vector images are commonly used in computer graphics than the Meta- file graphics. Bitmap Images Bitmap image is a collection of bits that form an image. The image consists of a matrix of individual dots (or pixels) that all have their own color.
