MTH 112 Elementary Functions (aka: Trigonometry) Review for the Final
2
Two Parts Part I (54 pts) – No calculators. – Just you, the test, and a pen or pencil. Part II (53 pts) – Calculators may be used. – Be careful with radians vs. degrees! Extra Credit! – Since the total is 107 pts, the extra 7 points will be considered extra credit.
3
Part I (54 pts) The unit circle (8 pts) Values of trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions (14 pts) Graphs of the trigonometric functions (13 pts) – f(x) = sin x f(x) = cos x f(x) = tan x – f(x) = Asin(Bx-C)+D f(x) = Acos(Bx-C)+D Identities (8 pts) Graphs of Polar Equations (4 pts) Other (7 pts) – Given a trig value of an angle, find the others. – Degrees Radians – Coterminal Angles & Reference Angles
4
Part II (53 pts) Solve Triangles (30 pts) – Right & oblique triangles – Related applications Simplifying Expressions (4 pts) Solving Equations (9 pts) Polar Coordinates & Equations (10 pts) – Polar Rectangular Conversions – Multiple representations of the same point
