5. Company Search: Public or Private? Using Mergent Online Go to http://library.rpi.edu.http://library.rpi.edu Click articles-journals at top. Click M; Click Mergent Online. Enter company name in left search box as directed. Click Go button. Look for company name in search results. Sector to determine company as public or private. Note ticker symbol is ge. Don’t include Inactive companies in search results. 5
