3 FY09 Sponsored Program Award Update

4 FY2009 Update Sponsored Program Awards Awards for FY09 totaled $53.1 million, an increase of 29% over FY08. Awards from all sources except industry and gifts increased by 33% or more.

5 First Quarter FY2009 Update Sponsored Program Awards

6 Sponsored Program Awards Preview, FY10 Through Sept 10, 2009, FY10 awards were running 6% above the entire first quarter of FY09.

7 FY2009 Update Research Expenditures

8 FY2009 Research Expenditures Research expenditures for FY09 were virtually equal to those of FY08 at $60,394,681.

9 FY09 Update Intellectual Property

10 FY2009 Update Intellectual Property Licensing income in FY08 totaled $462,185, an decrease of 12% from FY08. Of the total, $127,153 was distributed to the inventors and $120,511 was distributed to departments.

11 Stimulus (ARRA) Funding Update In FY09, Tech was awarded $1.6 million in ARRA funded projects. To date in FY10, Tech has been awarded over $1.7 million in ARRA funding and has been notified of over $5.9 million pending formal award. The FY10 information has been changing almost weekly, and we expect the total of $9.2 million to date to increase.

12 Stimulus (ARRA) Funding Update To date, the largest funding has been for fellowship, training, and other educational programs. - Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, NSF, $899,665. Baltensperger, Anderson, Green, Jasczak, Stockero

13 Stimulus (ARRA) Funding Update - Interdisciplinary Program for Education and Outreach in Transportation Education, DOE, $2,978,090.
