2. Upgrade to Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 2 Scope of Citrix Server Upgrade MAIS Citrix server software will be upgraded to Citrix Presentation Server 4.0. Upgrade will occur at the end of day on Saturday, March 25, 2006. Upgrade will affect users of:  BusinessObjects  VistaPlus  ImageNow Users will notice the change the first time they launch Citrix on or after Sunday, March 26.  MAIS LINC (Mac users)  PureEdge Viewer (adding February 25)  DAC/EIS (adding March 25)

3. February 22, 2006Upgrade to Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 3 Reasons for Citrix Server Upgrade Upgrade will position MAIS to implement the Web-based version of Citrix in the future. Current version of Citrix server software is outdated and no longer supported by Citrix.

4. February 22, 2006Upgrade to Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 4 Effect of Upgrade: Current Citrix Client Software Needed Citrix client software is not changing. Required versions of Citrix client software:  Windows Citrix client 8.00.24737  Macintosh Citrix client 7.00.405 System administrators or users must verify that correct version of Citrix client software is installed.  Many users will already have the above versions installed on their computers.  MAIS will advise users to contact their System Administrator or UL if unsure of unit policies for downloading software. Citrix icon will change from to Start menu will list two additional applications:  DAC EIS - Remote Access  PureEdge Viewer Users will see minor cosmetic changes on Citrix screens. 6. February 22, 2006Upgrade to Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 6 Effect of Upgrade: Password Requirements Users will be prompted to reset password after the upgrade. Passwords must be at least eight characters long. Passwords must contain at least three of the following four character types:  Upper case  Lower case Passwords will be valid for one year (instead of 60 days). Last five passwords cannot be used.  Per new studies, a strong password used for a longer time is more secure than frequent forced password changes. February 22, 2006Upgrade to Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 7 Communications Planned Early March:  Announcement message to U-M System Administrators and MAIS Unit Liaisons. t ULs and System Administrators can communicate with their users before they receive e-mail from MAIS if they wish. t System Administrators can prepare for and install correct version of Citrix client software if necessary. A Few Days Later:  Announcement message to everyone who uses Citrix to access applications supported by MAIS. A Few Days Before the Upgrade:  Reminder message to System Administrators, Unit Liaisons, and Citrix users.  Notice posted on Citrix Notification Screen.
