2 Definitions Ethnicity Codes – Need to align with IPEDS Non-Resident Alien (student on temporary visa) Black, non-Hispanic American Indian or Alaskan Native Asian or Pacific Islander Hispanic White, Non-Hispanic Unknown (currently unspecified minority)

3 Definitions Is there a need for clearer definitions, for example a definition of the ethnic categories? One possibility: Use “roll over” feature within the application Second possibility: Place definitions outside of the application on the side menu What needs defining?

4 Definitions Is everyone using the same CIPS for various program? (ie Fashion Merchandizing-is it 19.0203 or should it be 52.1902) How should CIP definitions be displayed? Are the “general” or “other” categories utilized more? (ie Agriculture Business & Management, General or Agriculture Business & Management, Other)

5 Definitions Are there too many CIPS? Is it too hard to place CIPS into the detailed categories? If so what do we lose if we eliminate CIPS?

6 Definitions What is Agriculture? Do we need more CIPS to accommodate “non agriculture” related programs housed in Schools of Agriculture? If Biology is a department in the School of Agriculture should we collect data on those students?
