4 Pie Priorities  How are priorities decided? –Is a program mandated? (Federal government, or courts) –How many will be served by the program? –What will the program accomplish for Oregonians? –How will state leaders measure and be assured that the program actually works?

11 What can be done?  Recognize the importance of core social programs  Re-examine costly legislation –Measure 37; no method of funding “reimbursements” was created.  Increase deductibles on OHP procedures  Support current proactive legislation –New “slot” lottery profits
