2 NRE 701 2 Final teams and topics Number of topicsNumber of topics –Currently at 26 –Last year at prospectus stage we were at 15 –Ended up with 11 projects Group sizeGroup size –There is natural attrition, anticipate it –Aim for 6+ team members AdvisorsAdvisors –They are in very short supply –Get their signature on proposal cover sheet –They are advised by administration to work with larger teams EFA FundingEFA Funding –For non-profit clients only –Can fund up to 8 projects at up to $5,000 each –Much more likely to fund projects with a larger team

5 NRE 701 5 Expectations EXPECT OF CLIENTEXPECT OF TEAM Contact Regular meetings One contact Attend SNRE talks Help with contacts and referrals Regular meetings One contact Give talk at client Be specific in requests for help, documents, etc. Context Understand student’s academic goals Student goals are primary and may not match client’s plans and needs Client has varying levels of teaching ability; deal with it Client’s day-to-day demands preclude immediate reply; adjust to it Feedback Review in timely fashion Provide positive support Give client enough time to review and respond Resources Help with funding, space, tools, in-kind support, etc. Provide deliverables that are of real use
