The Pyramid of Cheops - is the largest of the pyramids of Egypt, one of the "Seven wonders of the world". It is supposed, that construction, which lasted twenty years, over about a year 2560. Known dozens of Egyptian pyramids. The largest of them - the pyramid of Cheops or Chufu, Khafre. The Architect of the Great pyramid is considered nephew of Cheops. More than three thousand years (before construction of the cathedral church in Lincoln, England, around 1300) pyramid was the tallest building on Earth.

The pyramid is called "Chufu" – ("Relating to the horizon"). Consists of blocks of limestone, basalt and granite. It was built on a natural hill. Initially, the pyramid was faced with a more solid than the basic blocks of white limestone. The top of the pyramid crowned with gold stone. Facing shone in the Sun peach color. In 1168 a.d. Arabs looted and burned the city of Cairo. Residents of Cairo removed the lining of the pyramid, in order to build new houses.
