Background Nursing Programs: – Limited student admissions – Insufficient sites for clinical placements Community/Public Health Agencies – Extensive funding cuts – Loss of personnel and resources – Continued & expanded programming to meet growing needs

University of Central Florida Community Nursing Coalitions (CNCs) – 16 in 5 Central Florida Counties Orange, Seminole, Flagler, Volusia & Brevard – 12-13 students assigned/per 1 faculty – Located in culturally diverse, medically underserved population – Coordinator of Community Coalitions – Over 100 community agencies

Courses First semester juniors Community Health Nursing Theory (3 cred.) Community Health Nursing Clinical (2 cred.) – 90 hours Final semester seniors Public Health Nursing Theory (2 cred.) Public Health Nursing Clinical (1 cred.) – 45 hours Clinical courses are Service Learning Designated
