Facility Management10 Employer Feedback (Curriculum 1) z1. The concept of competence-based approach was welcome. z2. The responses to workplace attachment were positive; some opined that short period attachment might not be welcome.

The responses to the coverage of curriculum in both horizontal and vertical (trade specific) levels were ranged from neutral to supportive. z4. The responses to the year 2 curriculum (with electives) were primarily neutral, and some with reservation.

Facility Management12 Core Modules (1) z1. Year 2- “Integrated Facilities Management” y-- to provide training to students in various aspects of facilities management. y--on completion of this module, the students shall be able to integrate different aspects of management

Year 3- “Testing and Servicing” y--to provide students with the know-how in the testing/servicing of building services installation and equipment y--on completion of the module, students shall be able to conduct testing and servicing with respect to the necessary code of practice and statutory/safety requirement

Facility Management14 Core Modules (3) z3. Year 3- “Operation and Maintenance in Property” y--to provide students with know-how in operation and maintenance in property including legal requirement, renovation, maintenance management and operation management.

Facility Management15 Core Modules (4) z4. Year 3-”Hospital and Catering Facilities” y--to provide students with know-how in hospital and catering equipment; y--to provide students with know-how of various mechanical and electrical facilities in connection with hospital and catering equipment.

Facility Management16 Delivery and Supporting Facilities (1) z1. Theory delivery in the form of class teaching, basic skill in the form of laboratory and problem solving skill in the form of tutorial;

Facility Management17 Delivery and Supporting Facilities (2) z2. Competence-based approach in the form of case study, mini-project, site work; z3. Supporting facilities not limited to that within the Nexus, would be extended to that of the industry, prospective employers and VTC training centres.
