Station 1 One day, you were sitting around looking at a box. You then thought to yourself, “I wonder how many Starburst it would take to fill it up.”... So, you did it! After measuring the dimensions of ONE Starburst, measure the dimensions of the box. Calculate the volume of the Starburst and the volume of the box. How many Starburst will it take to fill the box completely? Also, calculate the surface area of the box and of one Starburst.

Station 2 A plumber who wears red overalls and his brother who wears green overalls have been eating way too much pasta lately. On top of that, they have been collecting an inordinate amount of coins on their quest to rescue a princess! They have encountered a pipe they need to squat down and need to figure out if they can fit in order to make it to the castle. Measure the appropriate parameters of the ‘pipe’ and calculate the volume and surface area of the pipe.

Station 3 You need to pump up your basketball with air. However, you don’t know if you have enough air to actually fill your ball! Measure the appropriate values and calculate the volume and surface area of the basketball.

Station 4 You’ve decided it’s time to get yourself a little treat. You’ve gone to the store and bought some delicious ice cream! However, you’re not sure if the amount of ice cream you have bought will be too much, or too little for your sugar cones. Measure the appropriate parameters and calculate the volume of the cones. Also, measure and calculate the surface area.

Station 5 You have decided to travel to Egypt for a vacation. Aside from seeing the world’s longest river (the Nile), you also want to go see the Great Pyramids. You begin to think to yourself, “I wonder how much stuff could fit inside of one of those things?” Measure the appropriate parameters and calculate the volume and surface area of the pyramid.
