Acoustics at NPL The fundamental role of the Acoustics Group at the National Physical Laboratory is to develop and maintain primary measurement standards for sound in air and water across a wide range of frequencies, from the infrasonic to tens of megahertz. A range of high quality measurements services are delivered to users throughout the UK to support trade, manufacturing, science, health & safety, environmental protection, quality assurance, statute and regulation. Our measurement systems and facilities are state-of-the-art, providing in many instances unrivalled precision, accuracy, stability and sensitivity. http://www.npl.co.uk/npl/acoustics
