Battery Backed SRAM (NVSRAM) What is it: Static RAM that has a battery connected to it in order to keep the SRAM contents when system power is off Uses: Constantly changing/updating data that must be recorded Common Uses: Control system data acquisition cards/Computer cards, HP calculator memory, older video game cartridges

6. EEPROM What is it: Read Only Memory that requires absolutely no power to save data. Similar to EPROM except it can be programmed electrically, without removal/UV exposure Uses: Storing small amounts of data which is NOT frequently changed Common Uses: voice recognition phone dialers, lighting controllers/mixers, newer video game cartridges (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory)
