3 Paperless Campus ITS goal must be helping us become a Paperless Campus Develop strategy how to get there from here Investigate means and options Let us choose most viable

4 Paperless Campus 2 Connectivity with reliability Server reliability insufficient Wider pipes not necessarily better Same size pipe not shared=more BW Multimedia Services My Desktop Anywhere In My Office In Smart Classrooms In Meeting Rooms In My Home

5 Topology Currently, backbone feed supplies one or more buildings Departments may share subnets Need to create physical and logical units based on College/Department Within CENG, need is by Department Multiple feeds to each unit (redundancy) No sharing of subnets (there are enough addresses to not require it)

6 Immediate Threat: Viruses, worms, trojans Form 3 to 4 person taskforce Have them work closely with virus software people Campus Network Administrators Raised Expectations SFI and the need for planning info

7 Building Relationships Collegial Approach Based on mutual trust and respect Understandings One size does not fit all CENG has special needs CENG has faculty with expertise TII does provide for special cases
