3 Anan OsothsilpPage 2 Lab9 To obtain Analog filter design, follow this step Date: 17 April 07 1.Based on work done in Lab 8, determine fundamental frequency of input signal 2. Examine the frequency band of fundamental signal then come up with your own range of Wp [Wp1 Wp2] range of Ws [Ws1 Ws2] 3. Determine desirable ripple both for  band pass ripple (Rp) and  band stop ripple (Rs) in DB unit 4. Use Information including Wp, Ws, Rp, and Rs to find order and cut off frequency of filter. The output will be n (order of filter) and Wc (cut off frequency) Note: that N is number of FFT points and not the same as n Select appropriate filter type (elliptic, butterworth, cheby) to filter out unwanted frequency content 5. Apply filter to original signal and observe output signal

4 Anan OsothsilpPage 3 Lab9 Report Content Date: 17 April 07 You need following information in your report Plot of original input Plot of original input without DC bias Plot of frequency spectrum of signal in 2 (X axis unit must be in Hertz) Plot of filter dynamic Plot of original signal versus signal without noise All plots must be on the same figure - Carefully write all of your parameter including Wp, Ws, Rp, Rs, Fs, N, n, Dc bias, fundamental frequency and give definition of each parameter -Discuss  effect of parameters including Fs and N for fundamental frequency  output signal and dynamic of filter if you increase or decrease value of n
