A stroke can occur at any time... Even when you least expect it…

The first type of stroke is a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage, which results in blood filling the subarachnoid space between the brain and the skull. The second type of stroke, Ischemic stroke, is the result of a blood clot in the brain that leads to brain tissue being deprived of oxygen and glucose-rich blood. The third type of stroke, Intracerebral hemorrhage occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures and blood leaks into the surrounding tissue.

Cell Death Free Radicals and damaging proteins Glutamate Neural cell NMDA Receptor First, the Neurotransmitter Glutamate is excessively released. This activates NMDA receptors on the neural cell surface, which greatly increases the amount of intracellular calcium This increase in intracellular calcium leads to the activation and production of free radicals and other cell-damaging proteins ….Which ultimately leads to cell death
