5 Tuesday, January 31 st 2oo6 Capstone, Spring 2oo6 Bar code will be the product Id, to identify product information (Price, sale information, manufacturer and name of product). RF ID, will be used in the same idea but wireless, so that the consumer does not need to scan the item, simply put it in the cart. RF ID will be a passive component, so is safer, cheaper and less power consumption.

6 Tuesday, January 31 st 2oo6 Capstone, Spring 2oo6 Micro Controller: Will be using an HC11/12 to handle all the processes of actualize the price on the LCD, data transmit to cash register, speaker control and user interface. Barcode Scanner LCD: Display product information, total price with tax included, advertisements and sales information. RF interface: Transmitter and Transceiver Transmitter: Will be used to send the information to the cash register. Transceiver : Send a signal to the RF ID, and receive the product id.

7 Tuesday, January 31 st 2oo6 Capstone, Spring 2oo6 Keypad: Clear product, in case needed, input card information, to activate audio. Speaker: To output product information and price as audio for those who need it. It will have audio output in English, Spanish French and German Power Supply: Battery (12 volts, rechargeable) Generator on the wheels Recharge interface

8 Tuesday, January 31 st 2oo6 Capstone, Spring 2oo6 Micro Controller: To interface with the RF and display the Price LCD: Display the total amount to pay RF interface: To receive the information from the cart Signal cancellation: Send a signal to each item that has been purchased so that it does not trigger the alarm system Power Supply: Standard AC supply
