The Role of the European Office in Vienna in Cross-border Activities Successful cooperation needs and intensive exchange of knowledge and experience between national and international experts in the field of education, decision- makers and workers in the field of pedagogy. Everyone who is working in this field needs to have a lot of specific skills and knowledge (special competences) and willingness to overcome linguistic, cultural and political barriers. Education has to prepare young people to become active members in the society.
