2 2 Progress for July 29, 2011 We successfully controlled and drove the hexapod. There were intermittent errors that we will need to chase down next week. Right: Startup condition. Note alarms on actuators 3 & 4. The manual has some advice. Just to make sure, we’ll check with ADS.

3 3 Action Photos Gale, Ken, and Steve at the Hexapod in one end of the Coude Room. Steve and Tom in the other end at the Hexapod Rack

4 4 Progress for July 29, 2011 Brenna is returning to Illinois and, so far, has made it to Santiago. Ken, Cheryl, Steve, and Tom will spend the weekend in La Serena and, so far, have made it to La Serena.

5 5 Next Steps & Plan Steve, Cheryl, Tom & Ken Return to Tololo on Monday Morning. Hexapod –Communicate more with ADS –Fix the problem (Loose wire? Software? Fuse?) –Continue checking out the Hexapod –Operate the device using SISPI Ken and Cheryl to build some more storage for the Coude Room and elsewhere for DECam equipment. We hope to pack up the shutter and filter-changer on Tuesday afternoon. The day we pack up the hexapod depends on how the hexapod tests go.
