The Project Started by MSU-CIBER through a BIE grant funded by the US Department of Education A powerful curriculum development initiative Over 50 international business content modules under development with an accompanying web portal Partnership between Cross-Cultural Leadership Forum, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, NASBITE, World Trade Center Cleveland, Brevard Community College, Lansing Community College, Merced College, Center for International Trade Development, Mt. San Antonio College, Muskegon Community College, and North Harris College

Planned Features for Academy Portal Collection of Syllabi Additional Sources for Teaching Materials PowerPoint files Project and assignment ideas Resources such as MERLOT Individual cases, textbooks, and videos with descriptions and user reviews Position Announcements Call for Papers Announcements Literature surveys (databases) on specific topics Discussion Board for instructors to interact with each other And … the e-learning modules

The Modules The modules are designed to be: Incorporated into existing courses Bundled together to produce a complete course Development principles: Each module can operate on a stand-alone basis Self-directed Equivalent of a single “lecture” Primarily HTML and DHTML, with some Flash for animations and interactive exercises Standards compliant – so that it can be imported into a variety of LMS products such as Blackboard, WebCT, etc. Delivery modes: downloadable, online, CD-ROM, self-executable

Experiences (until now) Tools for creating e-learning material are beginning to mature: Macromedia Authorware Macromedia Dreamweaver Lectora Publisher Toolbook Instructor/Assistant But it still requires significant technological know- how: Graphic Designer Programmer A person that can span across the content/technology divide
