CAT – Context Aware Toolkit A framework for building context-aware applications on mobile devices, such as the iPAQ. Features: Provides access to all local sensor data. Create SIGs (Special Interest Groups) for sharing sensor data with only the people you want to. Keeps a history of all sensor data. Predict future sensor data. Facilitates P2P communication.

CAT – Context Aware Toolkit CAT makes building context-aware applications as easy as extending an abstract class. Several applications have been built using CAT, including ActiveCampus and Navigator. Testing CAT and other mobile applications can be very difficult due to limited time and resources.

iSIM – iPAQ SIMulator iSIM can simulate sensor context and wireless networking for multiple agents. Each agent in the iSIM environment corresponds to some mobile application like CAT. CAT can then receive context from iSIM, just like it would from a real mobile device.

iSIM – iPAQ SIMulator iSIM Scenario: Add a couple of agents to iSIM. Add an access point. Move the agents and access point. Show the wireless ranges. ActiveCampus Scenario: View agents and make a friend. View the friend’s location on the map. Talk with the friend.

iSIM and CAT More information about iSIM and CAT is available at: http://www.cs.uoregon.edu/~jprideau/
