In the winter Anticyclones bring quite dry weather with clear sky's, it is dry a there are no clouds to bring precipitation. It is not hot and it sometimes brings fog or snow. A lack of inward radiation/sun means that the temperature becomes very low. In the summer an anticyclone brings very hot and dry weather with clear sky’s. Sometimes there are heat waves and a light breeze. Also the land gets very hot as a result of heating from the sun.

In the summer as there are no clouds, it allows the sun to shine straight down on the earth causing a very high temperature. The land is very hot as a result of the heat from the sun. In the winter the sun beams down on the earth but bounces back up into the upper atmosphere meaning the temperature of the earth is very low, in fact freezing! A lack of inward radiation/sun means the temperature stays very low

Summer Environmental There are a lot of environmental impacts of an anticyclone, such as poisonous algae which effects the wildlife, also the wildlife have adequate protection. There is also less water in the reservoirs and water pipes run across farmland. Crops and livestock get destroyed if fires are caused by the heat. Economic When anticyclones happen, then a lot of damage is done which means a lot of money is spent to repair and renew things such as water supplies. For example £25 million for water supplies was spent after an anticyclone in Paris. Also water is needed to be pumped into the reservoirs.

Other economic impacts are that there are many power shortages, also if there are fires caused by the anticyclones then it is very expensive to rebuild from the damage caused. Social Drought is a very big social impact of an anticyclone, and there are lots of water shortages. In Paris 50 elderly people died in a heat wave, therefore the hospitals couldn’t cope as they were getting very busy. Also 24 more people died of heat stroke.

1.How much did it cost for water supplies in Paris. 2.In the summer there are no clouds so what does this allow the sun to do? 3.How many elderly people were killed from heat wave? 4.Where abuts did they die? 5.What was the damage when the heat created fires? 6.How many more people died of heat stroke? 7.What can kill the wildlife after an anticyclone? 8.A lack of what? Causes the temperature to stay low in the winter? 9.The land gets hot in the summer as a result from what? 10.In the winter why is it so dry?
