3. Responsibilities of the Board Provide consumer protection for students that enroll in private post-secondary career schools. Board is responsible for oversight specifically for training that leads to or enhances occupational qualification. Transcripts and records of schools that have closed are also maintained by the board.

13. St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital Many of the vocational schools in Arkansas grew out of a need for trained employees. St Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs had a need for Certified Nursing Assistants and could not find enough that wanted to work. They formed a vocational program to train these CNA’s.
