3
The Value in Growth
4
The Mission The end customer would like to have low-energy consumption printing options in order to stay within local power constraints while attempting to fulfill their communication and documentation needs in societies and markets that are quickly growing into their roles in the communication age. The immediate or corporate customer would like to have low-energy consumption printing technology in order to appeal to this market as well as innovate in areas where a quality trade-off may be present.

The Need: Isioma Nnodum Representing the end customer Low Cost Low Energy Demand Low Maintenance Environmental Temperature Operability Low Running Cost
9
Affinity Diagram: Isioma Nnodum Low Running Costs Life cycle costs for office printers are high Cartridge replacement costs are high Low Energy Demand Activating high-demand appliances (printers, computers, etc.) endangers poor grid Many towns in Nigeria rely on personal generators Overshoot damages generator or causes blackouts Low Maintenance Minimize lifetime cost Technical repair skill pool low Environmental/ Temperature Operability Humidity extremes in Africa Temperature extremes in Africa Low availability of environmental control Low Cost Common consumer low-income Low demand for high-quality, high cost characteristics

The Need: Corporate Customers Representing Xerox, HP, etc. Energy Consumption Quality of Ink to Media Speed of Printing Cost of Ink Replacement Delivery to World Markets Profit Margin
12
Affinity Diagram: Corporate Customers Quality of Ink to Media Ink should be universally reproducible Ink must adhere to many types of media surfaces Profit Margin Customer is looking for a corporate benefit Project needs investors to be satisfied to stay on-board Energy Consumption Thousands of pages add up to thousands of watts Low energy usage for minimal grid strain Cost of Ink Replacement The most common demand from the end-user Ink cartridge manufacturing costs Speed of Printing The competitive market is introducing high speed printers Need to show customer “pile of money” Delivery to World Markets Transportation and packaging costs High demand for low energy printing in developing countries
