4 Where Is the Mormon Trail Located? The Mormon trail expands from Nauvoo, Illinois, Iowa, Great Platte River Road, and ended near Salt lake in Utah.

5 Who was involved? Joseph Smith: Mormons consider him the founder of the church of Latter day Saints. Joseph Smith was murdered on June 27, 1844. Bringham Young was American leader in the Latter day saints movement. He led the migration west in 1846–47 to the Rocky Mountains and founded Salt Lake City. He died August 29, 1877 in Salt Lake City after nearly 30 years as Church President.
