2 Definitions Queuing delay = outgoing transmission start time – incoming transmission end time System delay = outgoing transmission end time – incoming transmission end time M/M/1 queuing system – Poisson arrival and service time with one server and an unlimited queue size

7 Click Modular Router Runs on most Unix type platforms – I have Gentoo 2.6.19.2 Runs in user or kernel mode – I am using user mode Allows users to create software routers with configurable elements There are many elements that come with the software. It is also fairly easy to write custom elements

11 Future Research Solve this problem Add the QOS scheduling algorithms back into the configuration Compare Proportional Model of differentiated services to Square-root Proportional.
