Assessment determines if students have completed their learning outcomes. Assessment Instruments: gathering the data Exams, homeworks, lab reports, oral presentations Surveys, chat rooms, progress memos, journals, etc.

Assessment and Evaluation Assessment determines if students have completed their learning outcomes. Assessment Instruments: gathering the data Exams, homeworks, lab reports, oral presentations Surveys, chat rooms, progress memos, journals, etc. Evaluation is judging the quality and possibly assigning grades to an assessment instrument. Evaluation Levels: Diagnostic – measure of how well students know prerequisites. Formative – measure of how things are going during a learning unit. Summative – measure of students’ level of performance at the end.
