IRMA 20043 Why web-based seminar? increased amount of information systems education as well as students at universities-> impossibility to organize conventional seminars Need for more flexibility because of heterogeneity of the students Adult education technical infrastructure has been improved (for example high-speed broadband connections to the student village)

Web CT and its presentations feature Working in small groups (3 to 5 students) dealing with one typical knowledge work profession (lawyer, teacher, etc.) Presentations were put in each group’s separate workspace on the web Other groups commented on the outcomes Control groups to compare the value

IRMA 20045 Was web-based seminar successful? Evaluation a SOLO (Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome) divides the learning outcomes of concepts into five classes (levels). These classes are prestructural, unistructural, multistructural, relational, and extended abstract. Both the pre-treatment and the post-treatment contained 12 separately selected items

IRMA 20046 What we got Learning outcomes were significantly better in the group of students who completed the WWW-supported coursework. The result shows that by using web-based seminars students can learn the concepts of a content area better and thus, they may achieve deeper learning results.
