4 Meet workforce needs while providing for the safety and wellbeing of all employees. It is the responsibility of employees to make a good faith effort to come to work during times that adverse or other conditions of a serious nature exist. PURPOSE

7 COMMUNICATION PROCESS

8 ACCT. TIME-SERIOUS NATURE Employees may use: * vacation * bonus * compensatory * take leave without pay * make up time (with provisions) Employees on prearranged vacation or sick leave will charge leave to the appropriate account with no provision for make-up time.

9 MAKE-UP PROVISIONS SUBJECT TO FLSA  make up time in workweek in which time was lost  make up time in week when employee has not worked a full schedule such as holidays  receive overtime pay if exceeding 40 hours in the workweek  must have advance approval NOT SUBJECT TO FLSA  use compensatory time  make up time in week when employee has not worked a full 40 hours due to scheduled or unscheduled absences

10 MAKE-UP PROVISIONS  time made up on a holiday will not receive holiday premium pay or equal time off with pay  must be approved two-weeks in advance by manager  must be made up within 12 months from occurrence. If not, leave will be charged appropriately

11 AGENCY TO AGENCY TRANSFER  adverse weather can only be transferred if the receiving agency is willing to accept  otherwise, time will be charged to appropriate leave or;  time will be deducted from the employee’s paycheck by the releasing agency SEPARATION  time will be charged to the appropriate leave or;  deducted from the employee’s final paycheck

TIME EMERGENCY CLOSING CONDITIONS  agency may allow telecommuting (in accordance to telecommuting policy)  employees will not be required to charge leave or make-up time Employees on prearranged vacation or sick leave will charge leave to the appropriate account with no provision for make-up time.
