1 Mission Statement  The objective of this project is to help Insula develop a methodology for collection and electronic organization of archeological data encountered during their maintenance operations in the Venetian canals. And from this electronic database develop a visual tool with the purpose of providing insight into the city’s history and genesis.

The architect, Antonio da Ponte ("Anthony of the Bridge," appropriately enough), competed against such eminent designers as Michelangelo and Palladio for the contract.
