1 Flammable Gas Electrical Safety Concerns for detectors: Power per channel Feedthroughs Seals

2 Detector/cooling channel safety 1.Scenario (2) is the configuration that would be consistent with a safe TPG detector installation. 2.All electronics will have to conform to European safety standards w.r.t. flammable gas. 3.RF & Vacuum windows considered a “hazard/safe” barrier. 4.“Gas-purged” box necessary for non-instrinsically safe electronics within 15 ft. radius of hydrogen (FNAL code) Current conclusion: not a problem – yet!

3 Other Issues Off center absorber position: > what does  1 /  2 tell us? > consult with R. Palmer to see if the displacement corresponds to a change in the heating term larger than the systematic error in the measurement Installation scenario: LH2 testing capabilities at RAL (area available at FNAL)? Integration choice: window/manifold connection magnetic field measurements Define testing procedure: Window certification (NIU) Absorber/window attachment Absorber pressure and cryo tests (including leak tests)
