3
Technical Details of the Assignment The website should consist of exactly four pages, with appropriate links and graphics. There should be an introductory page, with links to allow users to move to other pages. You must demonstrate the use of: list tag, text formatting, images, hyperlinks, pre- formatting and table.
4
Technical Details of the Assignment The code should be commented upon, explaining what each of the tags is doing, and how it enhances the look of your page. You should submit both a printed version of the HTML and a disk containing the web presentation. All necessary files should be on the disk or accessible through embedded links.
5
Technical Details of the Assignment You should include references to all material that you have used from whatever source. This includes acknowledging graphical images gleaned from other web-sites. You are expected to reference the course text where appropriate, and other course materials. OtherReferences must include at least two of: Books (other than the course text), Internet and Journals or periodicals.
6
Assignment Advice (1) Before you start to think about writing any HTML code, you should undertake research into one or more of the above areas, to find appropriate material which is relevant, of high quality, of recent publication. You will definitely need to include material from a range of sources, including research and industry journals.
7
Assignment Advice (2) The first step will be to create ‘story-board’ mock-ups of what your finished pages will look like. These should show layout, with spaces where the text will be, spaces for graphics, and links indicated. The text that you write should have been honed to perfection in a word-processing package and pasted into the HTML coding.
8
Assignment Advice (3) You should ensure that one of your pages is the ‘entry’ page for the website, and links are made back to this from the other pages. You may create links to external web-sites you have consulted from the pages you produce, but these must be referenced correctly. One way of referencing clip art is to create a link to the site from which it was appropriated
9
Submission Details The Assignment should be on a disk labelled with your name, ID number, tutor’s name and group number, together with the printed version of the HTML code. This should be accompanied by the appropriate IMC Assignment form. Submit to the School Office, FML 308 by 3.00pm on Wednesday November 20 th 2002.
