Criteria for Promotion in Clinical, Standard, and Research Pathways Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine n Sustained high quality performance and potential for the future in education and n local and regional recognition in clinical care Research Associate Professor of Medicine n Sustained high quality performance and potential for the future in education and n ongoing research, creative or scholarly activity, evidenced by substantial high quality peer-reviewed publications sufficient to have gained national reputation from peers Associate Professor of Medicine n Sustained high quality performance and potential for the future in education and n ongoing, high quality publications of research, creative or scholarly activity, recognized regionally or nationally by scholars or professionals in his/her field ; and n sustained high quality performance in service and/or clinical care

Associate Track n Non-academically salaried, non- university salaried faculty who spend less than 10% of time involved in academic programs of UMMS n Senior Associate - meritorious educational contributions for at least 12 years

Appointment/Promotion Process n Division Chief sends letter to Dr. Giansiracusa requesting Appointment/Promotion with CV, teaching file, and list of referees n Dr. Giansiracusa requests letters of recommendaton from referees n Appointment/Promotions packet is reviewed by Departmental Promotions Committee n Appointment/promotion packet is reviewed by School Personnel Action Committee n Tenure is considered by separate tenure committee n Appointment/promotion packet is reviewed by Executive Council and Chancellor
