Nubia got its named because it means Gold Mine in the Egyptian language. Nubia is as old as Egypt Is an all-powerful & sacred monarch Complex political organization 1 st Complex Society Capital city is Meroe

Is located in Upper Nubia. Meroe became the capital because of continued intrigues, an Egyptian expedition sacked the capital of Cush, Napata, about 592 BCE. The Cushite capital was then transferred to Meroe, where the Cushite kingdom survived for another 900 years.

Thousands of years ago, seasonal lakes and savanna made Nubia a rich environment supporting a large population ranging across what is now barren desert. By the middle of the 5th millennium BCE, Nubian's were full participants in the "agricultural revolution," living a settled lifestyle with domesticated plants and animals.

The Kerma Culture that evoked out of Neolithic times started trading with other parts of Africa, Middle East, and Europe. They started trading luxury goods such as gold, ivory, ebony, incense, and even live animals to the Egyptian Pharaohs. By 1650 BCE, Kerma had become a densely occupied urban center overseeing a centralized state stretching from at least the 1st Cataract to the 4th, rivaling ancient Egypt.

In 1500 BCE, Egypt conquered all of Nubia forging a great empire that stretched all the way from the Euphrates in Syria to the 5th Cataract of the Nile. They built huge monuments throughout Egypt and Nubia, such as the famous temple of Abu Simbel.
