We found these signs posted on most city busses informing people of the new price increase. As MTA is planning another fare hike we went out to see if we are getting our money’s worth.
3
Next stop – Train station. Here we decided to see if the increase in price will provide a better or faster service or employ more people.
4
Here is what we found…
5
As we walked into the train station we saw a dirty station with garbage all over the floor. Does anyone actually clean this place? And who works here?
6
Greeted by a sign on how to use the automated service we looked around to find 2 MetroCard machines, a set of pay phones and a MetroCard reader.
7
Can you help me get to Times Square? What about if I want to get to St. John’s what train do I take? No answer…
8
I only have $2 what do you mean no Single rides at this time? How can I get on then?
9
Great! No line. Now, how do you use this machine? And why is it so cross-eyed that when I touch the screen it picks a button an inch and a half away?
10
Oh, and in case there is no one at the station they give you directions on how to use a turnstile.
11
Ah! Finally, some people show up. How about we interview them about the typical subway service in NYC. Well…We’ll tell you what happened at the interview later.
12
Whoa! Something just moved in the booth! Wow there is actually a person in there… I guess now lets see how the subway service itself is doing.

MTA should really invest some money into education first, as well as investing money into the train system which is over 100 years old. Photographed and commented by: Leon Pechatnikov
