14
35 Locations u Locations may be visible or or transparent u Account for actual and “pass through” locations u Locations have capacity. Set it to control use and movement
15
36 Locations u Don’t collect statistics on locations that are not important u Don’t confuse the location “lathe” with the resource “lathe operator” u Establish work locations on machines but in front of counters, desks, etc.

24
45 Entities Pallet of Boxes u Objects that have actions performed on them u Make multiple graphics to show action or status u Size graphics to match background u Graphic change is addressed in operation and/or move logic

48 Path Networks Node N1 Interface Resource Point at N1 Node N2 Node N3 Joint Node N5 Path Segment Interface
28
49 Path Networks u Networks consist of path segments, nodes and interfaces u Segments are measured for distance or time u Nodes should not be placed on top of locations (put them next to it) u Only one interface per location on the same network is allowed
29
50 Path Networks u Path segments can only join each other at nodes. u You must have a path network to use a dynamic resource u Plan path networks carefully to accurately portray the movement of resources and entities
30
51 Note Speed & Distance vs. Time Note measured distance
