6. Requirements: At first submission viva date must be set; the viva must have taken place by 1 April; for those with PhDs; the application must be submitted within 3 years of submission.

7. The Application Title and Project: A subject area connected to PhD, but not simply a revision of the PhD. Abstract – 150 words – write this first Statement of research already undertaken – 300 words Research Proposal – 1000 words

8. References 2 references – ideally the Supervisor and the External Examiner. If viva has not yet taken place, then a reference statement will be requested at the second stage of shortlisting.
