Team Cohesiveness Definition = degree to which group members are attracted to each other and motivated to stay with the group If groups have high-performance norms and high cohesiveness, they will be more productive. If groups have low-performance norms and high cohesiveness, they will be less productive.

How to Encourage Cohesiveness Make the group smaller Encourage agreement with group goals Increase the time spent together Increase group status and perceived difficulty of attaining membership Stimulate competition with other groups Give rewards to group rather than individuals Physically isolate the group
