Abstract המעבדה למערכות ספרתיות מהירות High speed digital systems laboratory 2 In order to capture fast events, a very high frame rate is required (~500K fps). However, since the events are, usually, very short, only a few frames (<100) are required. Frame rate in most image sensors is about 15-60 fps,due to slow read out process of the image. Solution: combine several sensors, each captures only a single frame. A system is needed to synchronize the sensors, control data transfers and translate raw image data to standard formats

System description המעבדה למערכות ספרתיות מהירות High speed digital systems laboratory 3 Cameras are controlled by FPGA, which stores image information in on-board SDRAM. When image capture process is complete, and data has been transferred, images are transferred to PC for processing – saving each frame in JPEG format and combine images to a playable movie.
